Photoshop Art and Speedpainting

It is truly amazing what a man can do with a computer nowadays. There were times when artists used brush and canvas, but now all you need is Photoshop and good skills. The results can be seen on the next video. Martin Missfeldt is the man responsible for it and for many other videos and stuff that can be found on his website. It took him 4 hours to make this painting and all you need is 3 and a half minutes to enjoy his work. This is his website: Martin Missfeldt.

This time I'm very proud to present you the website of Pavle Kuzmanoski, a painter that comes from my country, Macedonia. His website was made in the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his work. You can also find news and other info about Pavle Kuzmanoski, his Bio, and his work separated in several categories: Witnesses, Nudes, Still Life, Girls, Portraits & Drawings. Don't waste your time anymore and see what this painter's work is about. For those who are fond of art... believe me when I say, you won't be disappointed. Vladimir Kush

Another day spent in search of interesting stuff for my blog. I was just about to turn off my computer because my search didn't come up with the results I expected, meaning I was unable to find anything interesting. But then I saw Kush's paintings and sculptures and everything changed. I knew that his paintings must be on my blog's pages. He was born in Russia and began painting as a little kid between the age of 3 and 4. In the world of Vladimir Kush the myth, the metaphor and the poetry combine in new forms. I've tried to think of some appropriate text to explain more things about this artist, but I've given up the idea. I'll let his paintings speak. I believe that no matter what I'll write it won't be good enough to explain the magnificent world created by Kush. In this post I'll show you some of his work, my personal selection, but you can find more on the next link. And trust me, this guy is a true master of his work. For a better view of his masterworks click on every image to enlarge and enjoy. And remember, this is only a small part of what you'll find on his page: paintings, sculptures, books, bio... This is his website: Vladimir Kush.com

Read the books before Hollywood does

While I was searching for interesting stuff for my new post, I came upon this fantastic advertising campaign and the impact on me was so strong that made me change my original idea and go with this post. This campaign was made by Leo Burnett, Prague for the Association of the librarians of the Czech Republic and the copy of this campaign is: Read It Before Hollywood does. Outstanding :)

For the birds

I admit I neglected the blog a little bit, but now I'm back with another funny short film. For the birds was probably the first Pixar short film that I've seen but also it's my favorite. It makes me laugh every time i see it. Actually I was saving it to be the last of this little Pixar presentation, but I just couldn't resist the temptation to share it with you, so here it is.

301 Useless Facts

I found this list of useless fact and i had lot of fun reading it. Well the truth is that many of the facts are actually false, but that doesn't decrease the fun part. Here are some examples:

- Most household dust is made of dead skin cells

- Around 2,000 left-handed people die annually due to improper use of equipment designed only for right handed people

- Lightning strikes the earth about 8 million times a day

- Nepal is the only country that doesn’t have a rectangular flag. Switzerland is the only country with a square flag

- In “Silence of the Lambs”, Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins) never blinks

- “The sixth sick sheik’s sixth sheep’s sick” is said to be the toughest tongue twister in English - Al Capone’s business card said he was a used furniture dealer

- If you yelled for 8 years 7 months and 6 days, you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee. If you fart consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb

- The shortest war in history was between Zanzibar and England in 1896. Zanzibar surrendered after 38 minutes

- There are only four words in the English language that end in “-dous”: tremendous, horrendous, stupendous, and hazardous

- Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations (implemented on July 16, 1969) makes it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles

- The names of all the continents end with the same letter that they start with (not counting the words “North” and “South)

- Charlie Chaplin once won third prize in a Charlie Chaplin look-alike contest

- Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying

These are some of the facts that you can find on the next link. Have fun, remember to read the comments, and don't forget: Don't believe everything you read :)

Dear Spam Sender

Sometimes the Internet can feel a little bit boring. Luckily there are people (unfortunately very few) who do their best (or do very little) to entertain us while we aimlessly or any-other-way ransack the Internet. Recently I’ve ran into few witty web posts that will surely make your day.

The link below is to a page called Brajeshwar and there you will find a letter to Mr. Every-spam-sender. And I am sure you will find it as amusing as I did.

Click on the link and if you like it don’t forget to come back for more.

Give a Little Love

Wooow, the new Coca Cola ad is out and is already one of my favorite. If you ever played Grand Theft Auto you'll love the commercial. The story is taken from the notorious & violent GTA game, with a tiny change in the screenplay, where we can see the main character turning from villain to hero. This ad will put a smile on your face for sure, so don't miss it.

Geri's Game

It is I again and this time with another funny Pixar animation. This film is called Geri's Game and believe it or not is a 1997 Academy Award Winner in The Best Short Film category. The story goes something like this: It was a sunny autumn afternoon. Everything in the park was so peaceful until an old man came with a chess board determined to play a nice game of chess with his opponent...

My original idea was to post couple of ads (photos) about Absolut Vodka and no text at all. But it was impossible for me to choose few ads that will represent the extraordinary creative power that is representing the Absolut Vodka trough the years. There are just to many wonderful ads. I've selected only few of them to show you on this blog, and for the rest, just follow the link.

...Or Pixar Studios part 3. Another short film made by the best animation studio in the world. Maybe not as funny as previous two films posted on this blog, but still it would be pity if you miss it. And be patient there are more films to come. I wouldn't like to spoil everything by posting all at once.
